Learn the "pillar" principles behind structural design in civil engineering. Be a "rocket scientist" as you learn about jet propulsion and satellites through your time in Aerospace Engineering. You'll be "shocked" at the knowledge you'll gain learning about circuits and power through your time with Electrical Engineering. And conclude your week in Mechanical Engineering with high-tech LEGO labs designed to give the individual student a glimpse into the fundamentals of the engineering design process and a field trip to the SAE Formula 1race car test track to see mechanics in motion. See the inner-workings of this fascinating field through your participation in this hands-on program.
Strong High school course background in math (through algebra II) and science recommended.
Gaming Design (YAP IV)
Picture yourself at Pixar? Dreaming of a career with Dreamworks? This class taps into the fundamentals of visualization sciences and allows students hands on experience in the field of graphics and gaming. Using the latest technology and cutting edge software applications, students will learn advanced techniques in 3D programming, illustrative artistry, storyboard modeling, studio design, and graphics rendition to make their computer creations come to life!
Investigative Forensics (YAP II)
True to the nature of the forensics fields, students will learn to use anthropological, biological, chemical, and mechanical procedures to analyze a crime scene and determine the nature and cause of a crime. Trace evidence collection techniques (dusting for prints, shoe tread and type, document analysis, etc.) will be combined with advanced criminal techniques (blood splatter analysis, black light technology) to help students work on a realistic crime scene in which students must piece together all the evidence towards the goal of cracking the case!
